This book is one of the reasons that I am a yoga teacher. (Thanks Clare Preuss for sharing it with me). An amazing book that will guide you to a more creative life where you are doing more of the things you want to be doing. Fun and deeply transformational.

Judith’s beautiful understanding of alignment which honours bio-mechanics and natural curves is wonderfully elaborated here and even philosophy and life wisdom is often included in asana instruction!

Both of Judith’s books on Restorative Yoga have wonderful writings. Remember do not teach students based on photos from books! I recommend an in person training.

When the Body Says No – Gabor Mate
Gabor Mate has a lot to say about the connection of the mind and body. I also recommend his talks!
Anger: Wisdom For Cooling the Flames – Thich Nhat Hanh
This was one of those books that really chrystalised for me how to respond to all difficult emotions in my yoga practice, especially my Restorative practice. It was a life changing resource that forever deepened my practice and I recommend it to all of my student!
Balance your Hormones, Balance your Life – Dr. Claudia Welch
Absolutely excellent book that goes well beyond understanding Hormones and delves into Traditional Chinese Medicine, modern research and Ayurveda. I think its a great resource for everyone although in some areas she focuses on women’s hormonal cycles. Very illuminating in terms of strategies for long term health!

Fascinating resource that shows wonderful sequences for all kinds of ailments and the depth of BKS lyenger’s knowledge.
Running on Empty: Overcome Your Child Emotional Neglect – Jonice Webb
This book makes some important points on how to recover from emotional neglect which likely all of have to some degree. It helped give me further insight into gaining energy to make personal change.
The Wizard of Oz and other Narcissists: Coping with the One Way Relationship in Work, Love, and Family – Eleanor D. Payson
This book that will make you feel fantastic! Everyone has at least one narcissist in their lives and this book is extremely helpful in learning effective coping tools.
Up Ghost River: A Chief’s Journey Through the Turbulent Waters of Native History – Ed Metawabin
Beautiful book that I could not put down about one person’s journey to healing from the horrors of residential schools. I think its a must read for all Canadians, and its a beautiful and touching, uplifting book.
Back Care Basics: A Doctor’s Gentle Yoga Program for Back & Neck Pain Relief – Mary Pullig Schatz
Spiritual Midwifery – Ina May Gaskin
Classic in birth philosophy, I recommend this to any future parents or anyone interested in birth regardless of your birth choices going forward.
